New York City is about to get one more amazing omakase option. Chef Tim Cushman and sake sommelier Nancy Cushman’s hotly-anticipated O Ya will finally open its doors at the Park South Hotel this Friday. The Boston import has been a favorite in Beantown since it debuted in 2007, thanks to a menu of inventive sushi, Japanese small plates and exceptional (but pricey) chef’s tasting. To begin with in NYC, the restaurant will offer only two options: The 18-course omakase — which includes a mix of seasonal and modern sushi and sashimi dishes — priced at $185, while a NYC-themed “Okii Ringo” (that’s Japanese for Big Apple) will set you back $245 for 24 courses. There will also be an extensive list of sakes, shochus and Japanese whiskys. Stay tuned for more details.
